| Thorax the Devastator Records began in a line at Wendy's.
The Greeks and the Romans never made it to America, the Egyptians might
have (but only with the aid of the extraterrestrials see Chariot
of the Gods by Erich Von Daniken) but the Vikings, the valiant
Vikings made it before anyone (except the Native Americans who supposedly
traveled the Ice Bridge from Siberia). The vikings' willingness to
explore the unknown, to sail the uncharted, reverberates through each of
us here at Thorax the Devastator, and we carry that into our work, documenting
the undocumented and exploring the furthest reaches of music, where no
one else dare's to go, entirely without the aid of space people.
Thorax's first release was the Modey Lemon's debut horror-storylike album "House on the Hill". This record was available only through the Cdr. format and was entirely homemade. With no distribution and no means of mass duplication "House on the Hill" sold close to 300 copies. This release may be re-available through mail order down the road, but now is not available as the Modey Lemon work on their more "official" release for Anti-Flag's A-F record label.
Right now Thorax the Devastator Records is focusing on issuing home recordings from other artists, stay tuned for more info about that. Thorax the Devastator Records is a long name for a record label (which is really primarily a cassette tape label) that hopes to create and even longer musical tradition of exploration and documentation of that exploration. I mean, what would you rather have leading you into the mysterious of the unknown, a scantily clad egyptian, or a wooly-skined, horn-headed Viking? |
